Food Trail on Labour Day!!!

Hi bloggers!!
Here's the posting we've been waiting for!!

Our Labour Day food trail!!

It was a long, tiring but fun day. This was where it all began. Killiney KopiTiam! I was still half asleep when i got there..

And after a brief morning interlude, waiting for Ah Lim to get the van, it was non stop action!! Next stop was Bak Kut Teh at Rochor road.. Great soup, not as pepperish as i thought it would be. We also found out who could clean up a bak kut better than the rest! Ha! Oh by the way NBH came on board at this point. She quite gladly finished off everything..

Next stop was Bedok central for Chwee Quey. Very Q and the cai po was delicious!! Unknown to the rest of you, i actually had a nice chat with the Uncle at "Hollywood" while i was waiting for the chendol. Ha!

Afterwards was straight to the far east at Changi Village where we had to queue for what seemed like ages for the nasi lemak.. Look at our faces when we finally got to the finishing line. Ha!

We gladly took the 2 packets of nasi lemak and sat down by the steps to enjoy it.

I guess our stomachs couldn't take it anymore and we took a break in the afternoon to sing our hearts out. Photos will kindly be provided by my fellow Jan baby, Yileen. Look out for it!

So.. Eating resumes in the evening where we headed off to geylang for beef hor fan and tian ji congee. It was quite good actually. i think all the singing worked up an appetite..

How can we leave Geylang without going to the all time fave Yong He Tou Jiang? Right?
And that is where the name of this blog is born... All thanks to the ah lian who didn't want her boyfriend to send her home... Ha!

After that was our story of the night. D24 Durian Wang! The truth surfaces.. The ugly side of mankind prevails.... Anyway, to check out more details, go look at Leen's posting about STOMP. :)

Well, to end off a great day, it was one of my personal favourites.. Mee Hoon Kuey! It was with a different twist though as it was the dry version. Very nicely done and i was very pleasently surprised how tasty it was.

So... That was a brief round up of our exciting day. Looking forward to more of such trips. We can do our own version of Makan Places: Lost and Found! Only if we had Michelle Chia in the team though.. Ha!
