Pasture's greener on the other side...

I am sure all you people hear about "The pasture is greener on the other side..."

I have just got a new job after 6 fabulous years with my ex-company. Change is hard but I was looking forward to it.. New environment, new challenge, new things... It took abit of acclimatisation, rebuilding of comfort zone, forming my own click of friends. With a renowed company reputation, bigger company structure, different departments, better welfare, more growth prospects etc... All looks so good!

However... you realise in a big company, you are like an ikan bilis in a wide ocean... What you used to be so good at in your ex-job means nothing in your new job. You have to prove yourself all over again - & hopefully, you gain your boss's trust within the 3 months probation period.

You feel insecure - so you decide to eat the humble pie! In a bigger company with a lot more manpower, it does not mean that 3 people do the job of 1. On the contrary, it actually means 1 person get to do the job that the other 2 people pointed for you to do. How ironic!

3 weeks into my job .. I am still muttering the same words that I so remembered in my ex-job.. "There is light at the end of the tunnel." The important thing is to maintain a positive outlook. Luckily, with a new job comes recharged energy, excitment to learn new things & a humble pie. So do not worry about me.. I will still be here - definitely till probation!
